Product Description
The LX unicycle improves upon the CX with a stronger chromoly frame and the new flatter platform crown, designed to give the rider more "sole" support while doing 1-footed tricks and foot-scuffing skills. This new frame coupled with the "sure hold" double bolt seatpost clamp, deluxe saddle with front nose handle, and precision bearings encased by the heavy duty main cap-style bearing holders. The lightweight and sturdy 48 hole alloy wheel uses aluminum cotterless crankarms, and a low profile street tread tire. Torker gives you three sizes to choose from: 20", 24", 26" wheels.

5 out of 5 stars A great unicycle   May 20, 2010

This is the second unicycle I purchased. The first one, a Mongoose Squid, broke after three days (about 2 hours) of riding. All I wanted to do was to learn to ride a unicycle, and the Mongoose couldn't even provide that.

Mongoose gave me a full refund, and I decided to go with a Torker Unistar LX. It cost only a little bit more, but it is worth every penny. As soon as I opened the box, the high quality of this unicycle was obvious. This is a solid, solid unicycle.

After about a month now of riding, I see no signs of fatigue in the Torker. I've been going off curbs/bumps, and I've even been "pogo-sticking" with it a lot. This unicycle handles it all with no problem.

The handle on the seat is a great feature as well, and it helps preserve your unicycle from some of the bumps and falls. If you are new to unicycling, you cannot go wrong with the Unistar LX.

First of all I ride a Kris Holm 29er mountain uni. My two boys ages 9 and 12 wanted to learn to ride. The reviews made this seem like a good quality unicycle for a reasonable price. So far I completely agree. Bought 2. They seem well made, easy to assemble, and my boys were able to learn to ride them within about 3 hours of putting them together. We did need a pipe cutter to shorten the seat stem, but this only took a few minutes. (I already had this from shortening the stem on my uni.)

Tons of fun, and a they are learning a new skill.

Tip: we saved the foam padding and duct taped it to the front and back of the seat to protect from all those early learning seat bangs. I recommend this.

Bottom line: It's not quite a Kris Holm, but at 1/5 the price and for it's purpose it is great!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Product, Great Price   May 28, 2010

I was looking for a good beginner unicycle to use in practice, but also one that will last me awhile (I'd like to do tricks eventually). So far, so great! I've only had it about a month now, but it's held up well and rides smoothly. Eventually I'll want a larger wheel, but I would definitely look at Torker products again. This uni is more than worth the $100 I spent.

This is my first unicycle and I have had it for three days. I absolutely love this uni. It is a great unicycle for a beginner like me and it seems like it will last a long time. I have learned to ride pretty quickly as I can rock up and ride anywhere between 50-100 yards at a time. The handle on the front of the seat is very useful when getting on and off. It will come in handy when learning to do tricks as well. The plastic guard on the back is a good design idea so the seat doesn't get torn up every time it hits the ground. Overall I would recommend this uni to anyone who wants to get started in this fun sport. By the way I'm 5-11 and weigh 155 if that helps anyone.
