5 out of 5 stars i aint no lady but it works for me!   June 30, 2010

I bought this bike because i am getting to be a near jurassic (70 yr old) man, but wanted a "step thru" frame. At this age i just cant swing that old leg up like the young ones and dont mind the snickers about it being a lady's bike! Hey bring me my pink water bottle!! lol
So.. the shipper (UPS) did a real bang up job..and i mean bang up! The box was ripped, the frame scratched, busted some styrofoam and generally musta had a gorilla throw it around before finally leaving in on my front porch. Ezip does pack it well though and they are smart enough to include some touch up paint.
I was immediately impressed with the welds, the finish, and overall quality of the bike..amazing for the price. Assembly was no too bad, and all parts were there except one front hub nut (this maybe be lost due to the shipping?) The front brake was out of adjustment but i used to rear brake as a model. All instructions were easy to read, however like so many products these days, the lawyers must be have written the first five pages of everthing because of all the WARNINGS! Wear a helmet! Dont ride at night!
Tell your mother where you are going! (ok not that one) Dont ride in sandals or barefoot!
Oh my goodness, did i buy a bicycle or a death trap?
The battery is being charged tonight and i will take it out for a spin tomorrow, and I look forward to passing those spandex bicycle "gangs" going uphill , puff puff... "come on boys!"
So far, so good and i will add a review on how it runs a little later, but for now i can recommend this Ezip machine, a heck of a deal for the money (god bless the chinese) . If we could just export our love of litigation we could eleminate our trade deficit!!
oh ya, it says i am in bangkok, thailand but i am now in the mountains of colorado..
Pike's Peak here me and lady Ezip come!! (she hasnt got a name yet).
Oh one last thing... i am 6'2" and 200 lbs, so the bike is a little small for me, but for the price i can get small.... if i like riding electric bikes (i think i will), maybe some big manly bike is next!!! but I'm keepin the water bottle!

This bike is very easy to put together after I received it.
It works very well with the different functions you can
use when riding. I'm very happy with the EZip electric Bike,
and I'm having lots of fun riding it.

4 out of 5 stars Nice bike   June 30, 2010

I purchased this bike recently for my wife. It shipped the day after purchased, and arrived in good condition 3 days later. I was gratified that it was so easy to put together; it took only 35 minutes. One problem was that the charger was broken. I called Currie's service line; they were pleasant, and promised, since the part was under warranty to ship a replacement. I was dismayed, however, that they charged $10 for shipping, even though the originally shipped charger was broken. This is why their bike only earned 4 starts.
I have another Currie bike and used that charger for the new one. The bike is very nicely constructed and cosmetically looks great. It is heavy because of the motor and battery. The only unsatisfactory feature is the seat; it is cheap looking and uncomfortable. I will be replacing it. (Please note that the bike was shipped to our second home in California. Regrettably, Amazon does not ship to Canada.)

4 out of 5 stars Well built bicycle   June 26, 2010

I bought this bicycle hoping to be able to ride a bike again, since it had the "step through" frame. However, it's still very high off the ground (I'm an older lady). The frame was scratched when I got it because it wasn't packed well. It was, however, very easy to put together except for adjusting the front brakes. The instructions weren't very clear and I finally had to have someone else do it. It's a very heavy bike! Would probably be a better choice for a young person.

4 out of 5 stars Going on 2 years and still loving my bike....but got a flat on rear   August 2, 2010

I bought this bike in 08 and have been every so happy with it. But got a flat on rear tire last week. My hubby and I tried to change it, but he was too intimidated by having to remove all the motor work. There is no good directions on youtube or anything, and it will cost $30 just to change flat tire.

Also, beware. I was so happy tooling around with my e-zip that when I had to switch back to my regular trek hybrid, for my 8 mile ride to work, I was very out of shape.
Overall, still love my bike, but wish there was more do it yourself instructions for flats.
