4 out of 5 stars Denali Review   August 31, 2009

I bought this bike to do my first sprint triathlon. Of course it is not as good as most of the $1000 bikes that the rest of the riders had, but it was a great beginner bike. After a quick tune-up it has ridden perfectly.

I bought the GMC for training for my first triathlon. This bike is great for the money. I have used it for about three months now and have no complaints.

Overall, this is a good bike for the money. It is a bit on the heavy side for a road bike, but better that than being too flimsy. The bike is easy to put together if you have at least half a brain and works great with only a minor tune up. The one thing I didn't like about assembly was that apparently an impact wrench was used at the factory to attach the wheels, making them near impossible to get off without using an impact wrench. Other than that though, no problems. The bike rides well and shifts precisely after the cables have been set. One thing to note though, a standard size bike water bottle is too big to fit where the cage attaches. Also, the bars are the size used on mountain bikes, so road bike accessories won't fit. Overall though, I would say this is an excellent beginners road bike. Once the seat was replaced, no extra parts were needed to make it ride great. It is a great bike to get into cycling without spending a lot of money.

I bought this bike to replace a more expensive one which was stolen, and because I am entering my first sprint triathlon this summer. Its a good bike, was realively easy to assemble with a few allen wrenches and an ajustable wrench, took me about 30 minutes. The gears are relatively smooth, skipped a bit at first, but that's probably normal on a new bike. All in all, good value.

4 out of 5 stars Great beginner bike   June 8, 2010

I originally bought this bike for a sprint triathlon I'm competing in at the end of July...Looking for a less expensive bike to get started in case I don't keep up with triathlons in the future...However, after training on this bike, I'm really starting to enjoy it! Some advice: Take it to a bike shop and have them put it together for you..This will save you sooo much time and headache if you are inexperienced in bike assembly...My bike shop is great Had it put together and tuned up in less than an hour! Also, the gear shifts are too high on the handlebars Not near the brakes where a road bike's gears would normally be. Remember this bike is what it is: a beginner's road bike...Don't expect the performance of a much more expensive bike out of this one
